The civil engineering firm Schnetzer Puskas Ingenieure celebrated its seventieth anniversary in 2023. Over the years, the office has built up an impressive portfolio through its collaboration with up-and-coming as well as established architectural firms for a wide variety of clients. Eleven years after the publication of its first comprehensive publication in 2013, the book “Balanced Structures by Schnetzer Puskas” offers a fresh portrait of the engineering firm.

In addition to a glimpse into the history of the engineering firm and the development of structural engineering, it presents significant buildings from the past and upcoming projects. Several illustrated contributions by architects, clients, engineers and experts highlight the collaboration between the disciplines and the current challenges in construction.

The publication also addresses the challenging balancing act required not only to think across disciplines, but also to translate this mindset into concrete, productive results. At the same time, it is a call for recognition of the achievements of civil engineers and their fascinating profession.
